remember that time we danced in the foggy exploding stars?

here i am, once again feeling terribly lucky to have such remarkably radical friends!!

i can't begin to describe how overjoyed i was this afternoon to receive this AMAZING record of last years librAwesome californiAdventure.. sent to me by the one+only mr. multi-talented danny sangra, my newest libro birthday week buddy+bestE's future forever, who has wowed me full-tilt in oh so many ways+certainly again today with his impeccable video documentation skills.

it's just simply delightful to see the still images i've been processing, since our return last october, come back to life in real time...
[also kinda wild that it's been nearly a whole year since, and it's almost time for our 2nd annual;]

i hope you enjoy it nearly as much as i do!

p.s. i strongly suggest watching it full screen..it's way better that way;)

it will be up all weekend.
so, if you can't make the opening tonight stop by sometime in the next couple or before october 2, when my work comes down.

MAGAZINE PARTY LAUNCH TONIGHT!!

i know it's super short notice but if you happen to be around this evening...

please come celebrate the launch of MAGAZINE PARTY, a mini magaZINE, which -among a plethora of wonderful contributions - features a fashion editorial that kat clements, jill bradshaw, erika forster and i collaborated on a few months back.

it should be a really fun event and i'd love to see you!

brooklyn besos,
xlouise

please the details from the lovely miss jill below:

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28TH

MAGAZINE PARTY - ISSUE#1
LAUNCH PARTY

...@ Rouge 58
555 Metropolitan Ave. between Union + Lorimer
7-10pm

DJs: J Penry + Max Wowch

For those of you who know...i've started a ZINE!!! This is the launch party...so please come out! I will be projecting images of the zine as well as selling a few of these babies. check out the blog for more info: http://magazineparty.blogspot.com/

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

MAGAZINE PARTY was started to bring magazines back to the art form. Similar to Glenn O'Brien's TV Party, MAGAZINE PARTY aims to hold back from that technically slick feel that defines so many modern publications. Instead it encompasses a more DIY approach, which focuses on a more stripped down style; a style where art itself becomes the core of the design and content aesthetic. For this reason the zine has a limited run and is printed and bound by hand.

MAGAZINE PARTY serves as a forum for friends and artists to contribute something that is a little left of center and gives them the ability to expand from their usual work.

Full list of artists include:
- Kenzo Minami
- Gordon Hull
- Fergadelic
- Jess Rotter
- Zakee Shariff
- Vena Cava
- Elizabeth Spiridakis
- Will Lemon
- J Penry
- Max Wowch
- Alec Friedman
- Louise Sturges
- Kat Clements
- Sarah Kuhn
- Phil Oh
- Justine D
- Roi Cydulkin
- Jason Andrews

a little at a time..

i know i've been slacking on my updates here, it's just that i've been terribly busy+barely home as of late...but i want to let you know about two very exciting things that are happening this week.

1. a photograph of mine (of chris grassi, shot at the madonna inn last fall) was chosen to be included in the Humble Arts Group Show #36....(+given that i've applied to it a few times, it's beyond FANTASTIC to finally have been chosen!!)
+

2.EXPOSURE opens tomorrow at THIS los angeles..
it's a group show full of wonderful work and great boobies...the show was put together by the dear+talented magda wosinska in accordance with the launch of her (super radical) book BITE IT YOU SCUM...see more on her in this great interview on camerabag.tv

i have to say i am lucky enough to have a great crew of friends who not only model for me (constantly!) but were endlessly helpful in the preparation for this show.. critiquing+editing (mi senor, mercedez, rachel, chris+all the csf-ers at pete van leeuwen's bbq a month ago or so), tirelessly contributing to the retouching, printing+layout (xabi), and last but certainly not least-my amazing LA hosts (suzanne+orlando) for bringing a little OCD to the hanging process...cause had i been left to my own devices-it's likely that this jazz would've been jauntily leveled;)
THANK YOU DANKE MERCI GRACIAS FOREVER ALL!!

anyhoo..if you are in LA tomorrow, please come to the opening...it will be followed by an extremely awesome afterparty at magda's casa...+if you can't make it-the show will be up for a few weeks..so stop by during opening hours..
