Princeton Day School Alumni Exhibition
December 3, 2007 - January 18, 2007
PDS alumni from across the country will lend their work to the school for the school's fourth alumni exhibition. The alumni are excited to exhibit in the beautiful new arts wing. We will exhibit many works from at least forty artists including photographers, painters, sculptors, ceramicists and installation artists.
including a dipdych by yours truly.
go see the bob dylan biopic, it's frickin' fantastic, as it throws a real serious middle finger to the hollywood biopic trend..completely amaaazing!!imaginative, fantastical, funny, gorgeous imagery, and much more.
plus, cate blanchett has my vote for today's most spectacular actress, she was great in the most recent elizabeth movie, and she really nailed the bob dylan portrait..the walk, the mannerisms, the whole kit and caboodle. five ***** performance.
and heath ledger + charlotte gainsbourg made a great sexy troubled couple..GO forth.

we got to talking because we were both wearing fur hats, and i asked to take a style foto-which didn't capture her fabolousity [yea, i know kimmora lee simmons has won my heart too-shut up, her reality show is kinda genius]..then we met the artist. and it went on from there.
these are super subjective slices of her work. but the details are kind of my favorite part..[and this gal has got some serious watercoloring skills, which never fail to impress me-- kinda like those kids who have the skills to breakdance on the train.]

In her first one person show at artMovingProjects, Devon Dikeou shows the documentation of “Niney”, a child’s sweater made out of what she thought was lamb’s wool that she has gone to extreme lengths to keep in her immediate possession since childhood. Following in the tradition of Joseph Kosuth, John Baldessari, and Gorden Matta Clark, she uses photography and text to augment the significance of this article of clothing. Notions of fragility, safety, and comfort collide with feelings of fear, vulnerability, and voyeurism in the ongoing work that has seen earlier manifestations at Postmasters Gallery, and more recently at the Robin Rule Gallery. The installation will include photographs, documentation, and paintings that cite a written timeline both sincere and hilarious that builds to form an absurd narrative of intimacy and taboo.
Devon Dikeou is an artist who lives and works in New York. She is the editor/publisher of zingmagazine, currently in its 12th year.
