full disclosure: i spent a good chunk of high school as a neo-hippy deadhead..jammin' out to bootlegs of the grateful dead's epic live shows..now, while i no longer rock handmade calico+cordouroy backless tops+have little to no interest in listening to 15 minute meandering songs, i still hold a deep+loving affinity towards jerry+the crew. this video is from a 1969 playboy channel live show with a little convo btw sir garcia+senor hefner, 2 amazing pop icons..i figured now would be a good time to post this, as i think the GD is in a midst of a hardcore resurgence, i've heard songs featured on playlists in shops+cars on both coasts.

dietch projects was a full on foto+fashion+blogger reunion with flips up front. elizabeth ran off into the night before i could snap her genius royal blue bag (as partially seen in danielle's skirt shot). you should check out ms. levitt's book, we are experienced, it's pretty fantastic. upon our exit, turner had a chance to chat up the cheer coordinator to see about using the hair bows (my personal all night obsession) in a foto shoot..and the mama who made them (+two of the cheerleaders) were nice enough to give us each one..we wrapped up the night with a chile + chicas meal at turners abode: the ladies of turnstyle+righteous plaisant were the most delightful of company.

given my lack of mobility and subsequent mental unrest, this came to mind.
my dad gave me this cd and my first box, with a cd player for my birthday in 8th grade.
reminds me of when mtv actually played music videos, wearing scrunchies, crushing on a boy i'd end up dating for years to come[that i can't believe ever happened now cause all we had in common were things like being good at sports, not doing homework, smoking ciggies, and being mad at our parents--all of which 'cept the smoking are no longer applicable], timing chuck and gayatri kissing for over 48 minutes straight on a field trip to gettysburg, revlon outrageous shampoo, the grunge movement by way of prep school jersey. you know, hardcore shit.
