funny bit of info: i saw this thing on NOVA the other night about CAPTCHA (the little decoder thing there). the reason there are two words is because one is actually to protect you, and the other is-- called a "reCAPTCHA"-- to decode words from old books which are being scanned for preservation purposes. some of these books are so old that the text is too worn for the computers to read, thus the sloppy word image that you decode.
