ladies of little branch

love to love me somelittle branch. a truely great, albeit pricey speakeasy nook, perfect for girl chatter and secretive anecdotes.

it may be the best place in new york city to be in a public space with the utmost impression of privacy. the booths are quite high, so as to obscure eye contact or even the slightest invasion of others. downers are the $12 price tag for the most delectable cocktails, so it's all but impossible to have just one..unless of course, you're mamie and have a body skimming zac posen on the ready for monday and two shows manana.
claire and i paid our check a total of 4 times before leaving after last call..it's a delicious stage indeed for a range of discussions from future fantasies, commitment complications, boy blunders, timeline teetering and career fears.

dark of night

joe's pizza

always a delight to see my boys on carmine.

p.s. totally started joking around with this gal at the counter, only to realize moments later that it was no other than pink, herself. she was really quite sweet and was all, 'later' and i was all, 'peace'..

seacrest out

self promotion

is kinda weird.
but i ordered all these bidness cards and i'm not terribly keen on them.
so's i'm dolling them out like candy.

brilliant bess

it takes a little somethin', somethin' to get me to the theater.
and that something is usually a dear someone.
this time it was ms. mamie in the play hunting and gathering at primary stages on 59th st.
i would recommend going but the last two performances are today. so, you missed it.

it is a leap year

almost bought pants

i went in for the high waisted gingham chloe peg legs and almost ended up with euro (pause) hammer pants. but i left with some radical sunglasses from grey ant and a stripey tank from alexander wang...
story goes:the c.s. pants were great but a little baggy. as it appears she had them cut the patterns a bit big. at 5'8" i am certainly no size small, for these i needed the small. obviously they were sold out..their clients or patrons, rather, tend to be on the slighter side..

anyhoo, thursday's lesson learned again.
procrastination nation needs to go on vacation.

opening ceremony

p.s. remind me to cut up my credit card..this fashion shit's dangerous..

lens and repro-pro's

went to drop off my nikon n80.
which i dropped at mamoun's months ago.
in october actually, after the papabubble opening.

anyhow i haven't used the camera since.
it's just been sitting by the toaster, ready for fixing andcollecting dust.
appearing on a plethora of to do lists:get nikon fixed.

and goddamn it. i took it in today.
well, the exact thing that happened last time..
he opened the camera, pushed some buttons.
and the shutter worked like frickin'magic.

lesson learned.
go forth promptly.

fashion week en paris is off to a wild start
[more on that later].
these are a glimpse of my initial and i dare say, wearable, covetables for fall........

1+5+7
vivienne westwood makes me want to cause trouble on a picnic with her sling shot necklace and sunday day dress...and then simply toss on the gold number and some kohl for a studio54 kind of woopla of dancing and schmancing...wake up the next morning for a balls out brunch of gossip and gall.

2
yojhi yamamoto makes shy cool like aly sheedy and bloomers to boot.

3
junya wantanabe's flowers are my top picks for this supposed new 'trend' in florals.. fuck this springy shit that are all up en vogue right now. let's get all moody-drapey-polish scarf about it and stop all the trippin'.

4+9
maison margiela was spot on with the snakeskin accessories, and slaphappy symmetry..not sure i'd ever leave the house in tights but if i did, this would be how.

6
and while i really don't like the top half styling, the comme de garcons skirt is an army navy delite.
