best in show, this side of the pueblo?

this gentleman caught my eye in the licoln center square on my way into mara hoffman's show...but coincidentally he was on the same train on the way home...
i stopped him to take a couple shots and we had a really lovely exchange about native american jewelry....honestly those pieces are some of the craziest scaled numbers i have ever seen in all of my world traveling. (perhaps he was a berber woman in a past life?:)
in the end, i kinda wish i had stayed to talk to his (obviously crazy) ass a bit more and hadn't hopped the L but c'est la vie.

the night began beautifully yet ended in a slam.

now, i'm waaaay behind on this here blog+thus, i'm only just now finally telling you that the open ocean show at secret project robot was mad good-these gals just keep getting better and looking hotter..the experience was made all the more complete with fireworks and babes aplenty...

the stylish and stunning bassist, accessories editor, artist and all around sweetheart, miss sarah kuhn, has gone ahead and designed the most covetable camera straps i've EVER seen!!!

i mean, you know i love some chanel+am never without my camera..so, here, now i present you with the genius (and remarkably affordable) SFK camera straps..go to her site and order one or ten! i'm eagerly waiting on the classic gold and black but am seriously considering the turquoise and silver as an awesome alternate.

i fell hard for the magnificent earth pounding.

these days, the words drum and circle in combination rarely hold much appeal..but last weeks loomstate/pamela love/spoke visuals MAGNIFICENT EARTH situation was absolute perfection. hell, i might even go as far as saying it was my favorite fashion party i've attended..ever? in no small part, because it attracted not just the usual fashion cuties but also a slew of my favorite musically inclined buddies.

now, as has lately been the case, i was too busy getting groovy (with some favorite babes of blogtown- kat, elizabeth, and laia) +seeing all my aforementioned friends-to stop+take any fotos of the actual (40 drummer!) circle...

but just before we left, i remembered about this here blog+the whole foto-thing-that-i-do, so, i snapped these few shots in the hallway on our way out...

so, in conclusion, can we do this again?
i liked it very much.

it was, indeed, just a matter of time.

a belated recap of tuesday nights festivites that involved thakoon at aloha rag, bodkin+open ocean at future perfect, + lastly samantha pleet's post-show fiesta+screening at the soho grand.

i was having so much fun chatting that for the most part i neglected to take many pictures..i did nab a happy samantha, a cleavage-curious carlen, some great lips+record a babes of blogtown shoe view with miss white lightning+sea of shoes (lovely to meet you jane!) who were both rocking some sweet green velvet. it was a really fun fashion event with so many bests i was delighted to see.

8.1. the red tailed hawk of east williamsburg/bushwick...he makes my days more mystical when he comes into view..really a beautiful sight in the doldrums of this long bitter cold winter...i have yet to name him-any+all suggestions welcome.
2. my newly acquired 3D galloping horse picture, of which i am terribly fond...accented by the prism effects of a new favorite feng shui addition to our window. (i got this awesome gadget from my sister+her hubby for christmas-so rad!)
